Introduction

For the safety of an aircraft on ground as well as in the air, it is very important that the aircraft is evenly loaded to ensure proper balance. Pilots deal with aircraft loading situations for every flight, along with the authorised Load Master who is well qualified with the subject. Without a signed load sheet which is duly verified by the pilot, no aircraft can take off. This course considers the inter-relationship between aircraft loading and other related subjects such as aircraft performance, flight planning and the very important airmanship aspects of proper aircraft loading. In general terms, this course will discuss the ways in which the centre of gravity of both un-laden and laden aircraft can be determined and checked as being within safe limits.
